OUR
project
Our project
As a private, secular school, the school operates with full independence. It is inspired by the work of Maria Montessori, a leading 20th-century educator, through an open approach adapted to today’s world. Learning respect lies at the very heart of the school’s educational project.
A private secular school
The school strongly shares the values of the French republican education system: freedom, tolerance, openness to others, and secularism.
However, our school is deliberately different in its methods (small class sizes, active learning, and the central role of English in teaching).
For this reason, we have chosen to operate without any public funding, as an independent school outside the state contract system.
A school built on respect
Respect shown by adults toward children is one of the major contributions of Maria Montessori’s work. The teacher is not a master, but a guide who supports the child’s path toward independence while respecting their individual rhythm.
Respect among children themselves is also a central focus of the teaching team. As a place of socialization, the school provides children with the tools to resolve minor conflicts through communication and dialogue, and to defuse violence.
Finally, children learn to respect the rules set by adults, which provide them with a safe and reassuring framework. Teachers remind children of these rules with a balance of firmness and kindness.

The educational approach of the Bilingual Montessori School of Saint-Cloud
A blending of languages
& CULTURES
The school’s students come from very diverse cultural backgrounds, with many nationalities represented. The school naturally welcomes many French children, as well as children from across Europe and other continents.
Currently, the school welcomes children from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Eastern Europe (Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia), as well as from Asia (China, Japan, Singapore, India, Vietnam). Other continents are also represented: Africa (Algeria, Gabon, South Africa), the Americas (United States, Canada, Peru), and Oceania (Australia).
This constant interaction between French and international children, between languages and cultures, creates mutual enrichment and forms a true school of tolerance and open-mindedness.
It also encourages language learning: French for international children and English for French children.
Because it is a tool for knowledge and mutual understanding, bilingualism lies at the heart of our educational project.
For the primary section, we follow our own path, largely inspired by Maria Montessori’s methods, while using our own specific materials and organizational approach.
